UPDATED: High-Speed Motorcycle Chase/Crash

Around 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, DPS Trooper Will Frederick was involved in a pursuit of a southbound motorcycle on I-45 near The Woodlands. The chase continued to Spring Stuebner, then turning west to Rhodes Road at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The fleeing blue motorcycle then turned south onto FM 2920, heading back toward the freeway.

As he approached a subdivision, he attempted to lose Trooper Frederick and Montgomery County deputies who tried to assist in stopping him. Unsuccessful at losing Frederick, he came back out onto FM 2920 and started west towards Tomball. He passed Hooks Airport and Boudreaux Road he approached Stuebner Airline. While still traveling at nearly 100 mph, the bike crashed.

The driver, 30-year-old Joseph Anthony Catalano of Spring was transported to Tomball Hospital by Northwest EMS. He was treated and released to law enforcement who transported him to the Montgomery County Jail for booking.

Catalano is charged with Evading Arrest / Detention with a Vehicle and Fraudulent Possession of Identifying Information.
