Just before 7 pm Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a shooting in the 23700 block of Charterwood just off US 59 and south of Splendora. MCHD responded to the scene as they were told the victim had been shot in the lower extremity. Once the scene was secured by deputies medics moved in to find the victim dead.
Lt. Bill Bucks with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit said Gustalvo Wahlenberg, 69 who was a resident at the Charterwood address was involved in an earlier altercation with the victim, 54 who was also a resident at the home.
Wahlenberg then shot the victim on time in the chest with a .38 in the front yard,
Wahlenberg was arrested and is currently in the Montgomery County Jail on a murder charge. His bond is set at $250,000
The victim has not yet been positively identified.
