An auto pedestrian accident has closed the southbound main lanes of US 59 at Kingwood Drive. HPD is working the accident which happened at 9:45 p.m., Montgomery County units are assisting with traffic control. It appears to be involving multiple vehicles and an SUV with multiple passengers and struck the wall injuring several. First reports by officers on the scene thought it was a pedestrian fatal but once3 EMS got there they were able to determine the person in the road had actually been in the vehicle and got out on his own. He was not struck by another vehicle.
