UTAH MAN THREATENS ASSAULT ON POPULAR LIVINGSTON CAMP

At approximately noon on June 22, 2025,  Livingston Police were notified by Polk County Sheriff’s Office after they were alerted by staff of the  Camp Cho Yeh. They were advised of a disgruntled ex-employee who threatened to “...turn Camp Cho Yeh into a Co****ine“. Both agencies immediately began a lookout. They had a description of the suspect vehicle and information about the ex-employee. Within ten minutes, the vehicle was spotted and stopped by Livingston Police Officers on South Washington just south of Camp Cho Yeh. The suspect, 23-year-old Mario Bernal, was taken into custody without incident. He was driving a blue Nissan Sentra. The suspect was transported to Polk County Jail for processing. His vehicle was recovered by Dan’s Towing & Recovery. Camp Cho-Yea is a very popular camp used by churches and youth groups around the state. Robert Bernal, 23, of Vernal, Utah, was booked into the Polk County Jail and charged with terroristic threat.
