VEHICLE PURSUIT STATE HIGHWAY 6 NEAR FM 3090 IN NAVASOTA, TEXAS

On Friday, November 1, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m. a Grimes County Sheriff’s Office Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black motorcycle for not having a license plate. The driver of the motorcycle began evading on SH 6, entering Brazos County at speeds exceeding 110 MPH. Navasota Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety assisted in the pursuit. The motorcycle came to a stop on SH 6 just south of William D. Fitch Parkway due to a malfunction on his bike. The driver Jonathan Vernon out of College Station, was taken into custody for Evading Arrest Detention W/ Motor Vehicle, a Third-Degree Felony. The motorcycle was reported stolen out of College Station Police Department.
