An injury accident was reported this morning just before 11a.m. on FM 1097 near Lonestar Parkway. When EMS and Montgomery Fire Department arrived they found a Jeep Cherokee had struck a tree trapping the driver and 3-year-old boy. Another 10 month old child in a safety seat in the backseat was removed by witnesses and was taken to Conroe Regional Hospital in stable condition.
Montgomery Firefighters fought to free the woman and child. Both were very critical and required Air Medical Helicopter to Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. PHI Air Medical and a Life Flight helicopter both responded o the scene,
According to Trooper Phipps the 20-year-old female was westbound on FM 1097 and according to witnesses was weaving. As she approached the curve she left the roadway striking the tree. Her 2-year old son who was sitting behind her remains stable at Conroe Regional Hospital. Her 4-year-old son who was also severely injured and trapped in the front passenger seat remains critical along with the driver at Hermann Hospital in the Medical Center.
FM 1097 was closed for almost two hours as DPS Troopers investigated the scene. They were assisted by Montgomery Police, Precinct 2 Constables, Montgomery Police and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office who controlled the flow of traffic.
Stowes Wrecker service loaded the vehicle which was taken to their lot in Montgomery.
