A shooting in San Jacinto County last Monday claimed the lives of Johnny Ray McHenry, 36, and Rodney Leon Youngblood, 56, both of Coldspring.
The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office now has three in custody under a $1 million bond, each being charged with capital murder. They are identified as Houston residents James Douglas McCray, 20, Robert Lewis Hawkins, 28 and Quienten Marquise White, 21.
The Sheriff’s Office is still interviewing witnesses and is not ready to release any additional information at this time.
The shooting which took place on Parker Road in Coldspring Monday kept law enforcement busy most of that night.
San Jacinto County Precinct 2 Constable Roy Pippin was dispatched to a shooting in Coldspring in an attempt to locate the shooting suspects.
After a suspicious vehicle passed him, eastbound toward Shepherd, Pippin turned his vehicle around and witnessed the two suspects fleeing into the woods. A perimeter was set-up and a DPS helicopter and tracking dogs were immediately utilized.
It took just over an hour for dogs to locate the suspects near FM 2666.
