Just before 9am MCHD responded to a single vehicle crash at Old 105 at FM 1486 in the town of Dobbin. They arrived on the scene along with Montgomery Fire Department. They found a 2005 Ford Expedition on its side. Tavin Scott Parker, 17 of Magnolia had been ejected and was deceased. A teen was also ejected and transported to the hospital in critical condition. A female was in the SUV and was transported in stable condition.
According to DPS the SUV was south on FM 1486. It ca,e around a curve just north of the railroad tracks and ran off the edge. The driver over corrected, crossed FM 1486, went into the ditch and struck a culvert which caused the vehicle to flip. None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts.
The passengers were identified as Destiny Cox, 16 of Magnolia and Shyla Whygle, 20, of Magnolia.
Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and pronounced the driver dead. He ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensics Center.
Troopers do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The family of the driver arrived on the scene as troopers were still working the crash.
The road reopened at 2pm.
