DRUNK HITS 2 KINGWOOD PATROL UNITS
Early Tuesday morning Houston Police were on the scene of a major accident in the 3200 block of Kingwood Drive un which a BMW traveling at a high rate of speed crossed the bridge, lost control and struck a tree. Both occupants were ejected.. After they had been transported to the hospital, Hargrave Wrecker Service was loading the vehicle as two officers blocked the road with their patrol cars. Just as they finished loading the vehicle, James with Hargrave said he looked up and saw headlights coming right at them at a high rate of speed. The officers were not in their vehicles as the blue sports car slammed into the two patrol cars at close to 80 miles per hour. The driver never applied his brakes. The driver who was 19-years of age was injured and intoxicated and was taken to Northeast Medical Center in Humble.

Just before 3am a Alamo Redi-Mix truck loaded with ten yards of concrete rolled over at West Lake Houston Parkway and Beltway 8. The driver who had been on the feeder turned west onto West Lake Houston and rolled. Humble Heavy Duty Wrecker responded to the scene with two wreckers to upright the truck. The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Memorial Northeast Hospital in Humble. The crash had little affect on traffic at the early hour. Harris County Precinct 3 Constables were on the scene to direct traffic around the crash.

MOTORCYCLE FATAL I-45 AT SPRING STUEBNER
Approximately 11:30pm Tuesday a Honda motorcycle was found wrecked in the middle of the feeder road of Interstate 45 North just north of East Spring Stuebner. Approximately fifty yards away the body of a Hispanic male was found.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit, it is believed the motorcycle was northbound when he struck the curb, lost control and was ejected. At the point where his motorcycle made contact with the curb, is the same point the two lanes merge into one. Deputies believe he either moved over and over corrected or was actually forced over by another vehicle merging to the one lane.

RAYFORD ROAD CRASH
Just after 11pm Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a major accident in which the person was trapped and the car and woods were on fire. The first deputy on the scene confirmed there was a critical patient entrapped in the vehicle and a fire was starting under the hood. The deputy was able to use a fire extinguisher to stop the blaze. Moments later South Montgomery County Fire Department arrived on the scene and had to cut the 25-year-old driver out of the vehicle. MCHD transported the driver to Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands in critical condition. As they loaded the driver he went into cardiac arrest. Medics with the help of firefighters were able to get a pulse back by the time he reached the hospital. THe driver, who was the sole occupant is believed to be from North Harris County. He remains in critical condition at Hermann Hospital. According to DPS the Infinity was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Rayford near Geneva where he encountered the curves in the road. The vehicle left the roadway to the right, traveled several hundred feet through the ditch and then hit a culvert pipe. It was there the vehicle broke into pieces. Hanging 20-feet up in the trees was the mirror from his vehicle. The engine and transmission were ripped out of the vehicle.The crash was investigated by DPS Sgt. Pullen and Trooper Alder. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Milstead Wrecker. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control.

TEEN DIES IN I-69 KINGWOOD CRASH
According to Houston Police Accident Investigators, just before 7:30 pm Tuesday a Mercedes Benz passenger car that was southbound on I-69 at Kingwood suffered mechanical issues and broke down in the number 3 lane of I-69 just south of Kingwood drive in front of Kingwood Hospital. Both occupants exited the vehicle. Moments later a Dodge pickup that also southbound saw the vehicle and was able to stop behind it. Not far behind was a Nissan pickup which was also southbound with a driver and a 16-year-old passenger from Honduras that was visiting. The Nissan slammed into the back left of the Dodge pickup then deflected off clipping another pickup. It finally slammed into the rear of the Mercedes driving it across the lanes of the freeway, across the median, and across the feeder onto the right side of the feeder. The driver of the Nissan narrowly escaped fatal injury as the cab of the Nissan collapsed. He was transported to Kingwood Hospital. His 16-year-old male passenger did not survive the crash. Houston firefighters worked close to 45-minutes to free him from the wreckage. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center. The family of the young man arrived on the scene and positively identified him. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and chose not to file any charges at this time. The freeway and feeder were both closed from FM 1314 to just south of Kingwood until 12:30 am. DPS, TxDOT, Harris County Sheriffs Office M.A.P., and Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office assisted in traffic control and the closing of the freeway.

HPD SGT SEAN RIOS FAMILY HONORED AT SONS WILLIS FOOTBALL GAME
Houston Police Sgt. Sean Rios of Willis was gunned down Monday as he was on his way for his evening shift. On Tuesday night his family was honored at the Berton Yates Stadium in Willis as they attended his son Tristan’s Brabham Middle School football game. Several HPD officers were in attendance. A Houston Police helicopter did a flyover as the audience took a moment of silence. The highlight of the game was when Tristan Rios (#82) received the final touchdown pass of the game. Tuesday afternoon Robert Soliz, 24, who was accused of gunning Rios down was taken into custody on the Kay Freeway. He was then transported to the Harris County Jail using Rios handcuffs. One person of interest is still being sought. Soliz was out on a $100 bond from Harris County for unlawfully carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle. He was due to make a court appearance on October 7. In 2017 he was accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend. For the threat, he was given 90-days in the Harris County Jail. In 2016 he was arrested for carrying a handgun in a motor vehicle and was sentenced to 6-months in the Harris County Jail.
