Seventeen years ago Livingston former Livingston resident Dick Grant had a Christmas Village he had built and donated it to the Heritage Society. The train was a big hit every Christmas. Three years ago the Heritage Society sold the building which is now a gift/antique shop called “Good Golly Miss Molly”. It is located at 406 N. Washington in Livingston. This is one block north os US 190. Instead of moving the display the owner decided to keep the tradition going. Since that time it has grown more and more every year with donations of village objects. The admission is free but donations are appreciated. Those donations go to the Heritage Society for the park in Livingston which holds a real locomotive that is on display. During the Christmas Season, the train is fully operational in the village in the evening hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5 pm-7 pm. To make it a little more interesting they have a scavenger hunt during these hours. Visitors must find over 30 items in the village. Some of those include Superman, Kermit the Frog, Sponge Bob, Biker Santa, a hot tub and Mickey, and Minnie Mouse. On December 14, the train will operate all day for the “Livingston Home Town Christmas”. Livingston will be transformed into a wonderland of lights, a realistic Bethlehem will be at Pedigo Park from 6-8 pm. There will be hayrides, and Santa will be in town for the children.
