HARRIS COUNTY, TX– On April 27, deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the Gringo’s Mexican Restaurant located in the 19300 block of the North Freeway in reference to a theft. Upon deputies arriving, they learned an employee, identified as James Green Jr., had been stealing money.
Investigation revealed that from March 2023 to April 2023, he had been writing his own monetary tips on receipts from multiple customers, totaling over $3,499.00.
As deputies attempted to detain him, he ran out of the business and fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, he was located and apprehended.
The Vice President of operations refunded customers for the unauthorized tip amounts.
“James Green Jr. was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggregate Theft and Evading Arrest. His total bond was set at $5,100.00 out of the 182nd District Court and County Court 15,” Constable Mark Herman said.
