Just before 11 am Monday the Walgreens at FM 1313 near I-69 was robbed. THe male took cash out of the drawer and assaulted an elderly female before fleeing. An attempt to locate was immediately issued. A short time later a Montgomery County Precinct 4 K-9 Deputy on routine patrol near Splendora spotted the wanted vehicle and attempted to stop. A pursuit started. Before that pursuit ended the driver went into Polk County and almost to Livingston. Several times, he turned back southbound and the last turn southbound is where he ran out of gas. The scene just south of the Trinity River Bridge had law enforcement from Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s, Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, DPS and Splendora Police Departments. The male and his female partner will be brought back to Montgomery County to face charges of Aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, evading arrest and possibly a charge of attempted aggravated assault on a peace officer. Near the end of the chase the Polk County Deputy was deploying spikes when the suspect tried to run her over.
