WATER RESCUE IN EMC

FROM EMCFD
This evening right before 8pm multiple 911 callers reported two vehicles were swept off the roadway on Faulkner Road into the swift water of Peach Creek. Reports were up to 4 people were clinging to trees. Units from EMCFD, North Montgomery County Fire Department and Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, Montgomery County Texas, responded with swift water rescue personnel and watercrafts. Watercraft 155 B shift and North County Engine 95 personnel entered the water and made contact with both victims. Both vehicles were swept off the roadway 50-100ft and into the trees in rushing water. It was determined at that time to make a live bait water rescue of the elderly male who was clinging to a tree and unable to hold on much longer. Captain Eran Denzler from East County Fire entered the water and swam to the males vehicle with the assistance of both crews tethering him to a live bait rescue rope. The elderly male was removed from the water and to awaiting ems. The second victim in another vehicle was rescued by Lt. Clendennen of Pct 4 Constables and Captain Denzler of East County Fire again by performing a live bait rescue of the female victim and the crews tethering them to a rescue rope. Luckily no other victims were in either vehicles. The teamwork and professionalism displayed tonight between the 3 agencies was nothing short of spectacular! East County, North County, and Pct 4 Constables Office job well done!
