WILD HOG ATTEMPTS HOME INVASION AFTER ENCOUNTER WITH HOME OWNER

Just after 4 am a Montgomery resident was awakened by his two dogs out back barking. When he went to investigate it appeared to be a coyote. That was until he turned the lights on. It was a full-size hog. The dogs were restricted by an invisible fence but the hog came into the perimeter and started attacking the dogs. The resident ran toward them in an attempt to break up the fight. That is when the hog charged him. He ran back to his porch and got behind a wooden encased fish pond. The hog seemed to think the resident went into one of the back doors then charged the back door slamming into it several times and breaking it off the hinges. He then spotted the resident hiding behind the fish pond and ran toward the resident slamming into the fish pond and breaking the wooden enclosure. The resident tried to use his child’s playground equipment next to get behind as the hog came at him again. It then ran off. As his wife came out to see what was going on it charged her. Moments after they got into the house his wife spotted it about ten feet from the front door. With large glass doors, the resident was afraid it was going to charge again so he ran to the garage and retrieved his crossbow as he did not want to fire a weapon with other homes in close proximity. As he made his way around the garage and stepped out the hog again spotted him. That’s is when he fired killing the hog.
