WILLIS GIRL FIGHTING CANCER GETS A SURPRISE

Young Danielle Bacon was part of the Woodland’s Elite Cheer Team when she was practicing and started to get dizzy. Her parents took her to the doctor and it was found she had a brain tumor which turned out to be a rare form of cancer.

That was a lot for the young 12-year-old but she had something to be happy about but in July she had her last Chemo treatment and then the word that Make A Wish Foundation was sending her to Disneyworld this Saturday. But then yesterday she had even another surprise.

Shara Cote heard about her and her story and started collecting cards and gifts from whoever she could for Danielle. She decided to do more and starting last Thursday and a call to a friend at Planet Hollywood she was able to put the biggest smile on young Danielle’s face Monday.

It started out with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department showing up at her home and escorting her and her family in a limo to Buca di Beppo in the Portofino Center for dinner with family and friends.

Arriving she was greeted by almost one hundred friends, family, and just people who heard about it and came out to help cheer her on. The Woodlands Elite Cheer Team was on hand as was Sheriff Tommy Gage who led the group in prayer and adding, “Lord thank you for holding up all this weather for us,” as the sky in the distance was black with rain clouds. He then escorted young Danielle to her table. Needham Fire Department had a fire truck on hand as did Allen Sims with MCHD who attended and had an ambulance with medics to cheer her on.

“Family and friends and people who don’t even know us have opened their hearts up to us,” her dad, Paul Bacon, said.

“We have to stick together as a family and just keep faith that God’s going to take care of her, that he’s gonna heal her, and she’s gonna be OK,” her sister, Julie Bacon, said.

“Just blown away at how much love everyone’s showing, so much love to our family and to Danielle and to having everything we’ve gone through, just having her smile today is the most incredible thing to see,” said her mother, Angie Bacon.
