Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, North Montgomery County Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Philpot near Marlin in the City of Willis. The location is across from Willis ISD Transportation.
When they arrived a single story brick home was heavily involved in fire. Flames had already broken through the roof.
Residents close by told firefighters the residents of the home were still inside. Firefighters first had to break through locked burglar bars to get to the seat of the fire. After a search it was determined there were no residents in the house at the time of the fire.
Conroe and Montgomery Fire Departments assisted with the fire.
