WOMAN CRITICAL AFTER TRUCK LEAVES ROADWAY

Just after 2 am Friday, a female was traveling from San Jacinto County down Lee Turner Road at a high rate of speed.. Just as she entered Montgomery County, her Dodge Ram pickup left the roadway to the right shoulder. She attempted to correct and went back across the road, then back again to the right shoulder. When she did, with her vehicle partially in the ditch, she struck several telephone pedestals, a mailbox, and a culvert before overcorrecting again, crossing to the opposite ditch. She then struck a culvert pipe and her truck rolled, trapping her in it along with her Bull Terrier “Pixie”. North Montgomery County Firefighters had to first support the vehicle to prevent it from completely rolling over. Firefighters then had to get inside the vehicle to free her. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Pixie was uninjured. DPS investigated the crash.
