Just after 6:30 a.m. this morning MCHD and South Montgomery County Fire Department was dispatched to an reported auto pedestrian accident. The dispatchers were advised that a 50-year-old mother was lying in the street bleeding and CPR was being initiated.
When the first units got on the scene the woman went into traumatic arrest and was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:53 a.m..
Just after DPS units arrived to start the investigation the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was notified to dispatch detectives to the scene. In addition Texas Rangers arrived on the scene.
At this point the investigation is continuing.
According to a neighbor and family friend, the woman had taken her teen age son to the school bus stop. The son then realized he had forgotten something and they returned to their home on Madelin Manor just off Riley Fuzzel Road.
As the mother waited in the vehicle the son went inside. That’s when they heard a bang. The van came to rest against the fire hydrant pealing the driver door back across the fender. The woman was found in the middle of the cul-de-sac almost 33 feet behind the van.
At 3 p.m. detectives concluded their investigation at the scene and the victim Martha Leti Uruchurtu/Sanz , 49, of 28426Madelin Manor was taken by Metcalf Funeral Directors to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department dispatched one of their own wreckers to the scene to take the van back to the Crime Lab at the Sheriff’s Office for additional processing.
According to officials they are not yet calling it an auto pedestrian accident as a “RED FLAG” still exists but refused to discuss what the RED Flag was. Instead leaving it as the incident is still under investigation.
Many friends sat on the curb waiting for word. Many are in a Networking Business with the victim.They all said she was very successful and a great motivation for them.
