On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at approximately 11:30AM, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators responded to the Rock Creek Apartment Complex located at 100 Hollow Tree Lane (#1016) in reference to a Homicide investigation. A young woman had been found deceased in her apartment from a gunshot wound. The complainant’s mother found her after coming to the apartment to check on her daughter after she had not responded to any phone calls or text messages for the last day. The complainant’s boyfriend, who also lived in the apartment was not on scene and the complainant’s vehicle was also missing.
Both Homicide and Crime Scene Investigators entered the apartment to process the scene after a search warrant was obtained. Investigators had interviewed the mother and viewed security video from the property. Video showed the complainant and her boyfriend arrive at the apartment Sunday night and then showed the male leaving alone minutes later. It was also discovered the complainant’s vehicle had been recovered by the Dallas Police Department after being towed from a business parking lot.
The apartment unit was processed, and evidence was collected before the scene was released. Homicide Investigators will be pursuing murder charges after more video is reviewed and when the suspect can be located to be interviewed.
The boyfriend/suspect was identified as Franklin Alexander Acevedo-Chacon and Homicide Investigators are seeking to locate him for questioning in reference to this murder investigation. Anyone with information about the incident and/or the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
