WOMAN KILLED IN NEW CANEY FATAL ACCIDENT

A Martha Nell Beavers, 51, of Huffman was killed early this Tuesday afternoon in a head-on accident at FM 1485 and Heights Drive. According to DPS Trooper Papanos Tiffany Spann, age 27, was driving a red Ford F-150 eastbound on FM 1485 after leaving the store. The Beavers vehicle a 2009 Nissan Sentra was westbound on FM 1485. It was raining at the time of the crash but Troopers are not sure that is what caused the 50-year-old Beaver’s to cross the center line striking the Ford pickup almost head-on.
MCHD and New Caney Fire Department responded to the scene, however, the victim was apparently killed on impact.
Family embers report Ms. Beavers was en route to East Texas to visit a family member who was in the hospital.
According to Papanos the accident is still under investigation. He did state however that Ms. Spann did not appear impaired in any manner and alcohol was not a factor.

FM 1485 was closed for almost three hours as Troopers investigated the accident.

New Caney Fire Department work almost thirty minutes to cut the victim from the car. The driver of the pickup had minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.

Judge James Metts was called to the scene and ordered Rosewood Funeral Directors to transport the body to the Southeast Forensic Center in Conroe for autopsy.
