HCSO Patrol responded to a missing person call from a residence in 7300 block of Spring Cypress at around 5:45 pm.
Family members say a female was despondent due to emotional distress and was threatening to harm herself.
District deputies and CIRT deputies attempted to locate her by phoning her and speaking with her.
Her vehicle was spotted by deputies at Kuykendahl and w Rayford road at 8:10 pm.
As deputies were approaching her , she discharged her a handgun one time , shooting herself.
She was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital- Woodlands in critical condition..
HCSO investigators and crime science have taken over the incident.
