WOMANS STORY DOESN’T HOLD UP

Wednesday evening Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call near SH 242 and I-45. A hispanic woman reported that se had been kidnapped from another state and assaulted. She advised the cartel was after her unless her family paid a large sum of money.

Multiple units started combing the area creating a perimeter. Units on the scene then  requested a K-9 unit respond. With the assistance of the Precinct 3 Constables Office a search was conducted south of SH 242 along the railroad tracks.

It was there the K-9 found Ulises Alexander Cruz-Reyes with a machete attempting to flee. He was captured and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. He is charged with evading arrest and also has an Immigration hold on him. He advised deputies that he was from Mobile, Alabama.

Deputies worked into the night and it was determined the woman’s story could not be substantiated.
