On June 17, 2013 the Jared Jewelry Store located at 1475 Lake Woodlands Drive was robbed by six masked men with weapons. Suspects entered the store and smashed display cases and took jewelry. The suspects were in the store less than 60 seconds and left with an undisclosed amount jewelry. Major Crimes Detectives and Crime scene Investigators responded to the scene.
Major Crimes Detectives identified suspect(s) and have been working with the Houston Police Department Robbery Division.
On June 19, 2013 the Houston Police Department stopped and arrested Jose Villarreal on unrelated charges and they found that he was in possession of jewelry. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office determined that the jewelry seized by the Houston Police Department was jewelry taken in the robbery on June 17, 2013.
Major Crimes Detectives have identified other suspects and one additional person has been arrested. The investigation remains active additional arrested are anticipated. The majority of the jewelry that was taken has been recovered.
