woodlands woman speaks out about stranger in her apartment

A young lady who we will not identify went to sleep on the couch in her Grogans Landing Apartment Tuesday night. She fell asleep with one child on the couch across from her ad the other on the floor next to her. About 10:30 she got hungry and got up for a snack then laid back down. Leaving the television on for the noise she fell asleep again.

A little after midnight she woke up to quiet. The television was off and as she looked up a black man who has been identified as Kerence Carson,26, also of the Woodlands was standing over her, Shirt raised, pants unzipped and hands in his pants. She immediately screamed hoping her roomates would hear her. The man froze for a second then ran out the door.

She ran out the door also while on the phone with 911. The call dropped and just as she got them back on the phone he walked past her again.

Deputies were quick to respond including one courtesy officer who works in the complex. As she described what happened the man again walked by. Deputies were are to take him into custody after she positively identified him.

Carson remains in the Montgomery County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The young lady fears he will be released on bond and come back after her.

The single mother of two who works two jobs to support them will attempt to find another place to live in the next few days.

On of her biggest fears was if she awoke and he had snatched a child and she wouldn’t realize it until morning.

She still does not know how he entered as they make sure the doors stay locked.

Carson who has no prior record will be restricted from being around he when he does bond out.
