If you’re heading north on I-45, don’t forget the closure

Last night, TxDOT’s contractor closed I-45 and detoured all interstate traffic to the frontage roads.

I-45 merges down to a single lane northbound and southbound and drivers then exit to the frontage road. Northbound I-45 will exits at FM 1375 and southbound I-45  exits at FM 1374.

The contractor will work 24 hours a day to demolish the bridge structure and reopen I-45 by 4 AM on Monday, June 12th.
The FM 1374 closure and detour will remain in place while I-45 is reconstructed and a new main lane overpass is built. When complete, FM 1374 will pass under the interstate. This phase will take approximately 24 months to complete.
This detour and closure is part of this $119 million reconstruction I-45 project awarded to Webber, LLC. This project began on May 1st and is estimated to take 4.5 years to complete. This closure was originally scheduled for May 19th -22nd but was postponed due to weather.

TxDOT and their contractor appreciate everyone’s patience during this construction.
