HARRIS COUNTY, TX- A suspected intoxicated driver was arrested Oct. 12 after deputies responded to reports of a possibly impaired motorist on East Hardy Road, according to Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office.
Deputies located the vehicle in the 15400 block of East Hardy Road and contacted the driver, identified as Oscar Rivera Hernandez. According to the constable’s office, Hernandez displayed multiple signs of intoxication.
Deputies administered standardized field sobriety tests and determined that Hernandez was intoxicated. Further investigation found his blood-alcohol concentration was 0.180, more than twice Texas’ legal limit of 0.08.
Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of driving while intoxicated. His bond was set at $100 through County Criminal Court at Law No. 7.
Constable Mark Herman credited alert citizens who reported the suspected impaired driver and the deputies who responded.
“Driving while intoxicated puts innocent lives at risk,” Herman said. “Thanks to the alert citizens who reported this suspected drunk driver and the quick response of our deputies, another potentially dangerous situation was brought to a safe conclusion. We remain committed to keeping impaired drivers off our roadways.”
