Photographers Encouraged to Submit Black-and-White Images Featuring EMC
(OCT. 14, 2026– NEW CANEY, TX) – The East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) proudly invites photographers to submit work for the new Caney Pines Convention Center, helping showcase the character of East Montgomery County.
Photographers, photography artists and photography teams are encouraged to submit black-and-white images of East Montgomery and the surrounding natural landscape. Selected photographs will be featured throughout the convention center, reflecting the region’s character in the interior design.
“The Caney Pines Convention Center is an opportunity to showcase what makes East Montgomery County special, including the natural beauty and unique character of our community,” said Frank McCrady, President & CEO of EMCID. “This collection will bring a sense of place into the convention center and create a lasting connection between the venue and the community it serves.”
The images should complement the interior architecture through composition, light and shadow, texture and the tonal range of black-and-white photography. To accommodate the facility’s scale, selected photographs will be reproduced in large formats, with EMCID handling production.
Submissions must be received by Friday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. After the deadline, a selection panel will review all submissions and choose photographs for consideration. The panel will also select a photographer for an additional assignment to capture new images for the collection.
EMCID will direct the selected photographer’s assignment, including designated natural sites around East Montgomery, subjects, preferred style and required sizes or orientations.
EMCID is also accepting submissions for Art in The Atrium for its building, The Atrium Center, located at 21575 Hwy. 59 in New Caney. The “Art in The Atrium” Call for Art is open until Oct. 31 and welcomes paintings, mixed media, photography and outdoor sculpture.
Together, the two calls give local artists exposure and celebrate East Montgomery County’s beauty, creating a meaningful visual connection between the community and the new convention center.
