The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred on FM 149 at Karen Switch Road. The preliminary investigation indicates that on October 23, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a gray 2018 Dodge Challenger was traveling south on FM 149 behind a black 2001 Jeep Wrangler. The Dodge Challenger struck the rear of the Jeep Wrangler, causing the Dodge to veer into the northbound lanes of FM 149. The Dodge Ram spun and struck a white 2026 Ford F-250 that was traveling south. As a result of the crash, the driver of the Dodge Challenger, a 17-year-old male, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 48-year-old male, was injured and transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe, where he is listed in stable condition. The Jeep suffered minor damage.
