FATAL CRASH ON FM 1485

At 5:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, Caney Creek Fire, along with North Montgomery County Fire, was dispatched to a reported major accident with entrapment in the 4000 block of FM 1485 between Jefferson Chemical and the railroad tracks. They arrived on the scene to find a 2013 Nissan had slammed into the rear of a Freightliner 18-wheeler tractor. The female driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was entrapped and determined to be deceased.  The male passenger, who was seat-belted, was in critical condition and was transported to HCA Conroe, where he underwent surgery for injuries. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to investigate. The truck had been traveling south on FM 1485 and was attempting to turn left into the Republic Waste Transfer Station. The Nissan failed to control its speed and slammed into the rear of the truck. The truck driver was not injured. The victim, who has not been identified, was transported by Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. FM 1485, which was closed, was reopened just before 9 a.m. Milstead Wrecker removed the Nissan from the scene. The truck was drivable. The roads were wet at the time of the crash.
