Workers at some oil refineries have walked off the job in protest, after union leaders failed to reach an agreement with oil companies by midnight. That agreement would cover workers at 63 refineries nationwide. Some of those affected by walkouts are in the Houston area. Nine in Texas so far, including Lyondell on the Ship Channel and Shell in Deer Park, Cogen and Marathon in Texas City.
It’s the first such strike in 35 years.

Scott provided video, and as the blog grew in popularity, businesses began to inquire about advertising. The blog soon transitioned to a news website, and then to a print newspaper, which was sold in over 100 stores, and through subscription for several years.
Scott Engle and Jamie Nash are Montgomery County residents and veteran law enforcement / breaking news reporters, who met covering a law enforcement story and have covered multiple counties, with Scott as a television videographer for multiple local stations and national networks, and Jamie as newspaper / magazine / online reporter.
