On December 11th, 2016, Terri Thong-Melgoza was operating a 2004 Toyota 4Runner which was traveling westbound on Bourgeois Rd. at approximately the 6700 block. Inside the 4Runner was Antonio Melgoza and three juveniles, ages 4, 11 and 17. A Chevrolet Camaro driven by Michael Lewis was traveling eastbound on Bourgeois Rd. at the 6700 block failed to maintain a single lane of travel and crossed over into the westbound lane. The Camaro struck the 4Runner head-on. The 11 year-old passenger in the Toyota 4Runner sustained life-threatening injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased on December 13th, 2016 at 12:09 PM. Toxicology results are pending on both drivers. This case is currently under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Division.
