Creighton Dominates Early Polling In SD4 Race

Creighton holds substantial lead among decided voters

CONROE – Senate District 4 candidate and current House District 16 Representative Brandon Creighton holds a commanding lead over Steve Toth in early polling for the Senate District 4 special election to be held May 10, 2014.

In a head-to-head matchup, Creighton leads Toth, 59% to 41%, among decided voters. Creighton’s lead increases to 61% to 39% among voters who have only Republican primary voting history. Creighton’s margin is even higher among decided voters in Montgomery County, who favor Creighton over Toth 65% to 35%. Montgomery County represents almost half of Senate District 4’s population.

The 400-sample poll was conducted over November 6-7, 2013, among likely special election voters in Senate District 4.

While the race contains a significant number of undecided voters, Creighton gains additional support when voters learn of his conservative record as House Republican Caucus Chairman, leading the fight in the Texas House to reject Medicaid expansion under Obamacare, and working with other conservative leaders to provide additional transportation, electricity and water infrastructure.

Following the resignation of Tommy Williams from the Senate last month, Governor Rick Perry called a special election for May 10, 2014, to fill the final three years of Williams’ four-year term.

Creighton has been endorsed for Senate District 4 by elected, business and grassroots leaders across the district, including the Kingwood TEA Party and Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC, among others. He has consistently ranked as one of the most conservative Texas House members since he began representing District 16 in 2007. He received national acclaim for defending Texas’ sovereignty and for passing landmark tort reform legislation. He has been a constant champion for 2nd Amendment rights and for protecting the sanctity of human life. He has focused on keeping Texas the top job-creating state by voting for and supporting free-market principles that make this state the economic engine of nation. Elected by his peers as Republican Caucus Chairman in 2013, Creighton led the Caucus in preventing Medicaid expansion in Texas, and the conservative website RedState recently described him as, “The Man Who Kept Obamacare Out of Texas.”
