DRIVER IGNORES HANDICAP PARKING

Jeremy Michael Richner 06-07-2016

FROM A MCPR READER

“On Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at approximately 3:00 PM, I stopped at the Timewise Grocery #224 located at 20120 US 59, New Caney, TX and as I sat in the car awaiting the return of my wife, this jacked up Ford mud truck whips up in the parking lot next to us sitting about 4 foot off the ground as can be seen in the picture and a young fellow jumps out of it and went into the store to purchase God only knows what, but he was empty-handed when he came out, but I’d like to point out that while I have a fondness for mud trucks like this one, I have a problem when those who drive any sort of a vehicle totally ignore any and all around them, especially the handicapped, and if you will look very closely at the photo provided, muddy Mike pulls his wagon not only into a handicapped parking spot, but he takes up a good part of the designated walk area to gain access to the door of the Timewise.

What was even more shocking is there was a Pct. 4 Montgomery County Constable across the street and a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Officer got on the feeder headed south, and nobody as much as even looked up or over to see this minor infraction of the law in progress.

However, they say a picture is worth a thousand words and here you have the picture that clearly shows the vehicle, license plate, and where the vehicle was parked in relation to the store and I believe they call that evidence and I sincerely hope that this gets passed around and one of our local law men might take the initiative to pay this bogging bunghole a visit to at least explain to him the reason for handicapped parking spots of which I am very glad that I do not need, but I know some that do.

The way I see it, it’s great if a man can avidly participate in a pastime that brings him great enjoyment as it would appear this gentleman does, but not at the expense of the handicapped or our elderly.

To the fellow in this picture, I genuinely hope this comes to your attention, but more importantly, after you see the picture, I can only hope that you see how wrong you were and actually make an effort never to do it again, as you never can tell what further inconvenience we place on those that have limits in mobility and go out of your way to allow them their space, I mean, who knows, maybe some fellow in a wheelchair might want to get a head start on the ramp to help jump his way through the door of the Timewise.”
