(Harris County, TX) Harris County Sheriff’s Office Patrol district 5 deputies have arrested and filed charges on a 37 year old man for felony evading and violation of a protective order after leading deputies on an hour long chase through northwest and north Harris County last night Monday, October 24, 2016.
Deputy D. Hogan observed a tan colored Chevrolet Equinox parked in moving lane of traffic in the 8700 block of Fallbrook and N Gessner around 11:30pm.
The car was driven by Obdulio Mancillas of Magnola and a 31 year old female was in the passenger seat. Deputy Hogan approached the vehicle and the female stepped out of the vehicle and told him she was being held against her will.
As Hogan walked back to the vehicle, Mancillas started the vehicle and fled entering the E Sam Houston tollway.
Harris County Sheriff’s Units, Precinct 4 Constables, DPS and Houston Police chased the vehicle almost 80 miles as the driver went back to 249, north to Huffsmith Kohrville, to Spring Cypress, to SH 249, to FM 1960 then back to Spring Cypress. The driver then got into the U-turn road and went back to Beltway 8 then west to US 290. He entered 290 and traveled to Interstate 10 and east to Interstate 45. He then went up to Parker and through the neighborhood. He then traveled back to 45 and south to I-610. East on 610 to I-69 and north to Beltway 8 then east to I-45. The driver then sped north on I-45 to the Spring Stuebner/Sh 99 exit. Exiting he missed the split for 99 and got onto Spring Stuebner u-turn. He then sped south on I-45 to Holzwarth when he hit the wall blowing two tires. As the vehicle came to a stop the driver was taken into custody. During he chase speeds averaged close to 80 excapt after several spike attempts he increased speeds to close to 100. Mancillas has been arrested in Montgomery County
