HOUSTON TEEN ARRESTED AFTER MULTIPLE CAR JACKINGS -IN SOUTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Jacoby Devante Smith, 17, of 12034 Golden Lodge Lane in Houston was arrested this morning after terrorizing several individuals. First off an unknown male drove him to the Federal American Grill at 27700 I-45 North. There he met a young lady getting out of her car preparing to go to work. Pulling a loaded .22 long gun he attempted to carjack her. She fled the scene on foot taking her keys with her. The pair then drove to the Main Event at 19441 I-45 in Shenandoah and he attempted to rob a second female. She too fled the scene. It was then he spotted a male in the parking lot driving a Nissan Versa. Using the loaded .22 he again attempted to get the car and was successful. Smith fled the scene in the Nissan and his accomplice did also in the silver Ultima he was driving. A call was made to 911 reporting the robbery. A Precinct 3 Constable spotted the vehicle and waited for backup before initiating a stop. Smith exited Spring Crossing. That was when Precinct 3, Shenandoah, Oak Ridge, and DPS initiated the stop. Smith immediately stopped. As he was being taken into custody he asked what the officers thought his bond would be. He was almost in tears when they told him probably close to $50,000 on each charge and when he found out he probably couldn’t get a PR Bond. It was then he realized he was across the creek from Harris County. Smith was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on three counts of aggravated robbery and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. At the time of this writing, there is no bond set. This is not his first rodeo. On November 28, 2021, he was arrested in Harris County for carrying a pistol in a stolen car. For that, he was released on a $100 bond. Then on February 8, 2022, the Harris County Judge discovered that Smith had posted images of him holding a weapon on Social Media and had been using marijuana. A motion to revoke was issued. His bond conditions were changed and he was released on a $15 PR bond. He was set to be in Harris County Court 2 on April 20, 2022. For his unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, he was given a $2500 bond in the Harris County 178th District Court.
