LONG TIME SAN JACINTO COUNTY DEPUTY/ NEW CANEY ISD OFFICER PASSES

Doilas ‘Kirby’ Cowles, of Evergreen, Tx passed away August 27, 2017 at his home. The Edmonson County, Ky native was born on June 14, 1942 to the late Paldona Childers Mulkins and Kirby Cowles. Kirby Cowles served his country in the Navy as a Seal, Coast Guard, Texas State Guard, and as a Peace Officer for San Jacinto County, Tx, Coldspring-Oakhurst ISD and New Caney ISD. He was a Brother in the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite, and Shiners. He loved his Cowboy days, and anything to do with History. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cowles of Evergreen, Tx. Daughters; Gina and Husband Gary Harper of Brookeland, Tx. Sabrina Weidner of Montgomery, Tx. Billie and Husband Ciro Fitz of Conroe, Tx. Sons; Steven Weidner of Willis, Tx. Daren Weidner of Conroe, Tx. K. Shane Cowles of Magnolia, Tx. Sister Carol Moore of Brownsville, Ky. 24 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, Kirby was preceded in death by his daughter, Marisa Anna Cowles, son, Baby Boy Cowles, Nephew Barry Moore, Granddaughters, Ophelia Fitz, and Baby Girl Fitz. Gary Harper will officate, Monday, September 4, 2017 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Noon. and Kirby will be laid to rest at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, of New Waverly, Tx. Pallbearers Steven Weidner, Daren Weidner, Daniel Wind, Paul Lasko, Antuar Ferretis, Leo Vargas, Richard Burroughs, Jonathon Wind, Mason Harper
