On Monday Conroe Police responded to a reported major accident on SH 105 at Sapp Road. Conroe Police have determined that Velma James, 64, was northbound on Sapp Road which is an uncontrolled intersection. James failed to yield right of way. Her 2006 Toyota was struck by a 2017 Suburban which was eastbound. The driver of the Suburban was transported with minor injuries. James was pronounced deceased on the scene. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
