EARLY VOTING TOPS 48,000 IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY AFTER THREE DAYS, BUT 9 IN 10 REGISTERED VOTERS HAVE YET TO CAST A BALLOT

More than 48,000 Montgomery County voters have cast ballots in the first three days of early voting for the Nov. 3 Joint Election, but that is only about 10 percent of the roughly 461,000 registered voters in the county, which leaves plenty of room for turnout to grow before early voting closes Oct. 30. According to the unofficial daily count from Montgomery County Elections, 18,837 voters turned out on opening day Monday, Oct. 19, including 5,258 mail ballots received to date, followed by 14,361 on Tuesday and 14,850 on Wednesday, for a three-day total of 48,048. In-person early voting accounted for 42,195 of those ballots and mail ballots for 5,853. Willis has been the busiest early voting site so far with 6,409 voters, followed by The Woodlands with 6,098, Montgomery with 5,272, Election Central in Conroe with 4,665, and Conroe with 3,858. East County recorded 3,901, Mitchell 3,378, Spring Creek 3,548, Magnolia 3,014 and Splendora 1,991. Opening-day turnout of more than 18,000 was strong but fell short of the 2024 presidential election, when well over 20,000 county residents voted on the first day. Early voting continues through Friday, Oct. 30, at 11 locations across the county, including Election Central at 9159 Airport Road in Conroe. Polls are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 23, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, through Friday, Oct. 30. Registered voters may cast a ballot at any early voting location in the county, and Texas voters must bring an acceptable form of photo identification. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Sample ballots, polling locations and wait-time information are available on the Montgomery County Elections website at elections.mctx.org. With nine out of 10 registered voters still to be heard from, every ballot counts. Make a plan, check your polling location and get out and vote.
