At 10:15 am South Montgomery County Fire was dispatched to a crash at Woodson Drive and I-45 North in the parking lot next to Whisky Cake Restaurant. The report said a man in his 50s was unconscious and had hit a truck and then a light pole. Units arrived along with medics with MCHD. They attempted to revive the male but were unsuccessful. According to Oak Ridge Police, the male had called a family member stating he was having chest pains and was headed to the hospital. He turned off Woodson into the parking lot where he clipped a pickup and then tan into an illumination pole. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors removed the victim from the scene and transported him to the Montgomery County Forensic Center. The crash is believed to be related to a medical issue but police will need to wait on autopsy results.
