Volunteers note her as being the “total package” and stating she is sweet, smart and pretty. She is also noted as being well mannered, and knows sit and paw. She also walks well on a leash and enjoys treats. Kerry first came to the shelter as a stray in June after a bite to a citizen, and unfortunately was returned to the shelter after she accidently jumped up while playing and caused a laceration to the adopter and she was returned to the shelter. Kerry is looking for someone to take a chance on her, and work with her on training and exercise. Please consider foster for the day! Comments: PLEA Amaya A397258 1 year old 34lbs AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE, FOSTER or ADOPTION! Beautiful Amaya – this sweet girl is absolutely precious. She is gentle, quiet and enjoys one’s company. It is hard to believe she came to us in not the best of shape, back in March. Her fur was in horrible condition with patches of missing fur with some of her skin having thickened. At only a year old, she is already heartworm positive, but we have started the slow kill process for her. Thanks to many medicated baths – Thank you Nia – her fur is filling out nicely. At one point she was not too keen on leash walking, but WOW, she has come a long way. Easy on the leash, enjoys her time in the yards. Now spayed, this special little nugget is ready to join a family. Please consider her and come visit her at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter!
