In April 2025, Lieutenant (Lt.) Serratt of the Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force was conducting an undercover online investigation when he began communicating with a man from Louisiana. Lt. Serratt found that the suspect owned and ran a social media chat room used to trade child sexual abuse material (CSAM). During the investigation, the suspect sent CSAM directly to the undercover agent working on the case.
The suspect was identified as Sean Alexander Meeks, 49, of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Meeks, who already had a conviction for possession of child porn in 2007 and was a registered sex offender, was arrested on a Montgomery County warrant in April of 2025 in Louisiana. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) took over the investigation and conducted a forensic exam of the suspect’s phone and confirmed his ownership/operation of the illicit chat room.
On October 15, 2026, a federal judge sentenced Meeks to 400 months (more than 33 years) in federal prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release. This investigation spanned two (2) states, and Constable Cash wishes to thank all our Law Enforcement partners who made the arrest and prosecution possible: the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, ICAC Unit; the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana; Homeland Security Investigations, Lake Charles; and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
