San Jacinto County Sheriff Sam Houston’s Office says the county has extended its burn ban, prohibiting all outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of the county effective Nov. 6. The order will remain in effect for up to seven days (November 13) unless the San Jacinto County Commissioners Court extends it further.
The ban does not prohibit firefighter training, public utility work, natural gas pipeline or mining operations, or planting and harvesting agricultural crops.
It also allows prescribed burns conducted by a certified prescribed burn manager in accordance with Sections 153.047 and 153.048 of the Texas Natural Resources Code. Activities related to commercial food establishments and propane or cooking fires conducted under safe, controlled conditions are also permitted.
The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office urges residents to follow the restrictions and help prevent wildfires.
