Willis ISD announced Friday their middle schools will be safer, thanks to the addition of safeguards already in place at the high school. They posted the following:
Safety is our top priority, and we’re excited to share that our middle schools have begun implementing the same weapons detection systems used at Willis High School.
This week has included staff training and the rollout of these systems as part of our ongoing work to strengthen and align safety practices across our secondary campuses.
Middle school students will not be required to use clear backpacks at this time.
Across Willis ISD, we remain committed to providing safe learning environments and ensuring our staff have the tools, training, and processes they need to care for our students.
We appreciate your continued trust and partnership as we work together to keep our schools safe.
