Law enforcement officers throughout Texas are performing a different job TODAY – Thursday, July 23, as they partner with Texas Roadhouse to benefit Special Olympics Texas. Off-duty law enforcement officers will be working as servers in Texas Roadhouse restaurants in the annual event known as “Tip-A-Cop” at participating locations from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Some law enforcement agencies have their plans to participate posted on their agencies’ social media pages. However, since it’s an off-duty voluntary activity, not all agencies have posted it. The reason is obvious, and it’s a shame- Some people always choose to believe their tax dollars are being wasted and attack folks who are spending their unpaid time to literally serve the community. None of the LEOs participating are doing so while on the clock. If anyone says otherwise, they’re misinformed.
Scroll down for a list of participating Texas Roadhouse locations. Those who can’t visit a restaurant but want to contribute can do so securely through the Special Olympics Tip-A-Cop Go Fund Me page by visiting https://pro.gofundme.com/campaign/2026-texas-roadhouse-tip-a-cop/c807658Â
Texas Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR)  police officers will be working hard to serve guests at Texas Roadhouse, collecting donations for Special Olympics Texas, a year-round movement that provides sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Join us for dinner on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at participating Texas Roadhouses.
