WOMAN TRAPPED IN FM 1485 CRASH

Just before 3 pm a young woman was traveling south on FM 1485 near Azalea. As she tried to avoid a collision with a vehicle that slowed, her PT Cruiser hydroplaned into the northbound lanes. A utility vehicle owned by HAZMAT International was northbound at the time and pulling a skid steer on a trailer. The driver tried unsuccessfully to avoid a collision but was unable to. The truck impacted the passenger door of the PT Cruiser, crushing it and ejecting the engine. The female driver was trapped and had to be cut out by EMC and Caney Creek firefighters. The truck pivoted as it then ran into the ditch. The driver of the truck was not injured. The female driver who was in her 20’s was transported to Kingwood Hospital. FM 1485 was closed for over an hour. Saddle Creek Towing loaded the PT Cruiser and Range 3 Wrecker Service loaded the truck and trailer.
