At approximately 12:10 am Sunday morning, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a possible home burglary in progress on CR 4010 in south Liberty County. When responding deputies arrived on the scene they found three adult males deceased from gunshot wounds.
According to Sheriff’s lead Investigator James R. McQueen during the ensuing follow-up investigation, foul play was determined and a warrant for Capital Murder was issued by Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Judge Larry Wilburn for the arrest of the homeowner, 30-year-old Andrew Jared Bass. Two of the three deceased males were identified as Walter Clifford Brown approximately 54 years old and 20-year-old Christopher Allen Wells, both men from the Dayton area. The third deceased male’s identification is pending further confirmation by Investigators.
Pct. 4 Judge Wilburn conducted the inquest and ordered an autopsy on all three men while Andrew Bass has been placed in the Liberty County Jail on the Capital Murder charge.
