ONE-YEAR-OLD NEAR DROWNING VICTIM MEETS CREWS RESPONSIBLE FOR SAVING HER LIFE

On July 23, 2013 Leighann Bailie and her husband   Bobby Bailie  were in the kitchen  when they realized their one-year-old twin Eloise who was playing on the floor with her twin sister  in the adjoining living room  was no longer there.  A friends dog had been outside and they think it had nudged the back door open allowing Eloise to squeeze out and get to the pool which was a short distance away.
Bobby Bailey immediately ran outside and found Eloise in the pool partially submerged. He immediately scooped her up and brought her in the house. As Leighann Bailie called 911  started chest compressions as Eloise was not responsive.
Kim Brown a Communications Supervisor with MCHD took the call and immediately started giving the parents CPR instructions.
Within minutes medics Kevin Crocker and Shawn Pressley arrived at the home at the same time as The Woodlands Fire Department.  When they got inside they found Eloise conscious after the CPR that had been performed. They immediately transported her to St. Luke’s Hospital in The Woodlands. Eloise was then transferred to Texas Children’s Hospital where she spent the next 72 hours recovering.
The response time for MCHD was 15 minutes from the time they were called until they arrived at St. Luke’s.
A photo of the family and medics will be posted on a wall in the entry to the hospital district administration building. This wall has been named the “SAVE WALL”. It holds over 1000 photos of saves starting with the first one in 1998.
