A plane has crashed in Northeast Brazos County.
Late Monday night, DPS officials on the scene confirmed four adults and one child were killed in the crash in a pasture off of Macey Road and Jack Manning Road near the Edge community about 10 miles west of North Zulch.
DPS also said the plane is registered in Georgia, and it was en route from Jackson, Mississippi to Waco. After experiencing bad weather, the pilot reportedly contacted a tower in Fort Worth.
Personnel at the tower advised the plane to fly in one direction to avoid the weather, but DPS reports the plane flew in the opposite direction.
The debris field at the crash site is scattered, and parts of the plane were still missing as of late Monday night.
