wal-mart thief nabbed

TravisRayLewisOn Monday, September 30, 2013 at 12:23pm the Cleveland Police Department was dispatched to Wal-Mart in regards to a theft suspect fleeing from loss prevention employees.

Sergeant David Edwards observed the suspect run into the McDonald’s restaurant lobby located just north of Wal-Mart. Sergeant Edwards approached the fleeing male to detain him at which the male resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, the suspect was placed into handcuffs for the alleged theft.

Further investigation found the suspect, while inside of Wal-Mart, filled up a basket full of tools, deactivated the security devices and exited the store without paying.

It was found the suspect had a previous criminal trespass warning and two previous convictions for theft.

The suspect was charged with Criminal Trespass (class “B” misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (class “A” misdemeanor) and Theft (state jail felony).

The suspect was identified as Travis Ray Lewis (age 25), who resides in Point Blank, Texas.
