SPLENDORA FIRE CHIEF RESIGNS

Just before midnight last night Splendora Fire Chief Virgil “Ray” Vaden publicly announced his resignation from his position. In the announcement he states that after 13.5 years of dedication to the Splendora Fire Department, 7.5 of which he has been blessed to be the Fire Chief, it is time for him to put more focus on family, his three (3) children, and advancement at his Full Time job. He reflected back on his many years at the department and all the achievements that accompanied them.

Chief Vaden has assisted with the department growth on many levels; from 100% volunteer staffing to having multiple paid staff members, assisted with regional grants to upgrade communications equipment totaling $880,000 in funding, and even working through constant equipment updates to help insure firefighter efficiency and safety. He has been the department’s leader through some of the largest changes to every take place. As the pages turn in the Story Book of Splendora Fire Department Chief Brandon Frazier has been chosen amongst Chief Vadens many successors to be Interim Fire Chief.

Chief Frazier states that he has been lucky enough in his time of service to know and be trained by the greatest firefighters and administrators around. It’s their guidance over the years that has given him the opportunity to serve the department and citizens in a larger capacity. Without a doubt there are many great legacies in the Splendora Fire Department that have set a tremendous standard for him to live up to.

The Splendora Fire Department would like to personally thank Chief Vaden for all he has assisted with while being their leader over the past seven years. They wish him luck in all that he does and hope to continue the growth he has helped with over the years. Chief Frazier has a strong team of dedicated individuals supporting him while continuing in department growth and operations thanks to Chief Vaden. Thank you Chief Vaden for your service.
